Second Day of Eid – Girl’s Garden Brunch

Do I love hosting charming intimate gatherings of close friends, particularly in such gorgeous weather ? Yes. Have I mastered the art of not stressing out and obsessing everything is perfect for my guests before they arrive ? No. But I’m working on ‘not sweating the small stuff’ (even though deep down my heart and stomach do back-flips when I realize I have outdoor table settings for four, and I invited five). In the end, as always, everything turns out beautiful, lovely and – most importantly – all guests enjoy the food and have a good time.

This Monday I invited a few close friends to get together and enjoy brunch in my mini-garden – and, all turned out beautiful. It was relaxing – we laughed in the garden while listening to Diana Krall and munching on delicious apple-pecan mini cakes and bits of warm quiche. Below are a few pictures of what was served:  the classic labnah and za’atar combo with fresh multi-grain bread, warm apple-pecan mini-cakes sprinkled with powdered sugar, bubbling hot quiche on a home-made crust, cranberry and almond muffins, yogurt with fresh berry’s and granola and an egg station for preferred omelets. And to wash it all down ? Fresh strawberry, orange and carrot juice – with piping hot coffee and tea to sip on while chatting. Oh winter, stay longer please.
